Biography
Meredith Boyajian, M.A., is an Associate Teaching Professor at the University of Rhode Island and has over 8 years of experience instructing in a classroom. She earned her undergraduate degree at the University of Rhode Island in Secondary Mathematics Education where she then spent her next 5 years teaching at the high school and middle school levels. During those years she earned her master’s degree in Mathematics for Educators at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. She teaches undergraduate level courses, and her specialty is numeracy for teachers. This course is designed to help students studying elementary education gain knowledge in math methods, processes, pedagogy, and the Common Core and National Council of Teachers of Mathematics state standards. Meredith has collaborated with several professors in other departments such as biology, animal science, chemistry, and business, and participated in multiple workshops hosted by the office for Advancement of Teaching and Learning. She is also the math coordinator for the STEM Academy hosted by the Talent Development program where she designed lessons for students to explore the connections between math and science.
