Course Description: MTH441 is the introductory course for
partial differential equations. The object is to present an elementary
treatment of the most important topics of the theory together
with applications to problems from the physical sciences and
engineering. This course is designed for senior undergraduate
students and entry level graduate students majored in mathematics
and engineering. At the same time it provides a good basis for
students who will pursue the study of more advanced topics.
Grading Policy:
Bi-weekly homework 50%;
Midterm (Oct 16th, 6-8pm) 25%
Final Exam (11:30-1:30, Dec 13th) 25%.
